I got a strange one, it has been quite a while since I have owned a carburated car, since H.S. I own an old 86 Harley though. With my truck in the morning, I pump the throttle to the floor 4 times. The truck fires right up, let it high idle for about 45-60 sec (spring summer fall) then bump the pedal once to kick it down. I am wondering what kind of magic touches everyone else uses. On my Harley, I hold the throttle about 1/4 turn and it fires up. I cant do that with the truck, it takes about 15sec on the starter that way. On the Harley in the winter, yes winter I run Toys for Tots in December, well I pump the gas 5 times, 1/4 gas and full choke...it fires right up. This will be the first winter with the truck, I am wondering what kind of dance I will have to do to get it running for going plowing?

In my 70' with the 302 all I have to do is pump it five or six times and hold the gas pedal about half way down. But then again with my 70' and a 410 and a 650 4 barrel holley all I have to do is push the pedal to the floor and touch the key and its running although neither of my vehicles like to idle cold (must be the Canadian winters)
hope I helped
