rim swapping?
Ok..bear with me...new lady user with question!!! Does anyone know if it is possible to put rims from a 1998 Ranger on a 1986 F150? Or do I have to remove the tires from both rims and switch those? I have tires mounted and balanced on the Ranger rims just sitting around, and the F150 needs new tires to pass inspection. I have no idea where to go for this information!!! HELP!!! (please?)

Sorry, the rims from the ranger will not fit the F150 because they have different bolt patterns. You may be able to interchange the tires as long as both vehicles had the same diameter rim (usually 15 inch). But some newer Rangers came out with 16 inch rims. Just read the sizes of the tires on the sidewalls, there you will be able to tell if they are both made for the same diameter rim.

Thank you!!! Luckily, the tires were swappable even though the rims weren't. A few places were looking to charge me $100 and more to switch them all out (the price for 8 tires off of the rims and 4 back on), but with some diligence, I managed to find a mom and pop type shop that only charged me $49. Thanks for your knowledge!!!
