you dont have to take the ball joints off,pull the hub,rotor,and then the 6 bolts that hold the spindle to the knuckle.then pull the spindle off,pull the shaft out,done deal,the right side is harder due to the slip joint,mark it,and take the slip joint apart.

I just compleated this job on my 94, F250 and the hardest part was getting the spindle off. I purchased a tool at the local auto store that screws onto the spindle and uses a slide hammer to remove. I still had to use a little torch heat on the inside to break them loose.
When putting back togeather with a new inner dust seal be sure to install the plastic seal. i forgot this and had to remove one wheel and install it.
