NP 435?

What Years Did Ford trucks and Broncos come with a NP 435 that will fit a 351W, and what transfer cases did they come mated to?

I Have a C6 and my forward clutch pack is dying a slow grueling death, so i am currently on the lookout for an np 435 to swap in.

NP 435?

[updated:LAST EDITED ON 02-Oct-02 AT 10:03 PM (EST)]I don't know about bolting up to a 351W but I had an NP435/NP208 in my 85 F-150 about 6 months ago. I've since then swapped in the C-6/NP208 that I have in it now. I'm not 100% sure but I don't think there's any difference in the bolt patterns between a 351 and a 302, they are both small blocks. The two transmissions bolted right up except for the difference in hardware on my 302. The housings are different in thicknesses so a combination of longer and shorter hardware was needed. Now, they both had the exact same NP208 but the adapter to adjoin the tranny and transfer case is different. The whole setup can be found at any nearby junk yard I'm sure, I lucked out and had a donar truck at the time. That helped more than you know because I also needed a column shifter, floor plate, Gauge cluster (for the tach and shifter selector) and different hardware. Yours on the other hand is going to be the opposite. You're going to need to make a hole in the floor for the stick shift, need a clutch resevoir and slave cylinder, hardware of course, and a new column (if the shifter bothers you). The crossmember is universal between the two but a new adapter is a must. Other than that I think you should be fine. Sorry for rambling on, but the more info the better, right? Good luck.

NP 435?

The NP435 doesn't have an integral bell housing. You do have to check input and output spline counts and lengths to make sure you'll get a 435 to fit. It should be out of a 4wd vehicle to make things easier. Any truck with a 240/300 6 or windsor (255/302/351) small block and a 435 will have the same bell housing. The transfer cases that came out of most 70's to early 90's ford full size trucks will fit, making sure you have the right parts for any conversion. Take pictures off the donor vehicle and make sure you get all the linkages and supports if you do a conversion.
