There are Ford Bronco Police Package Trucks out there. In fact I almost bought on from the State of Pennsylvania (actually the Park Rangers of P.A.). They were very simple, very plain looking, they had the F-150 Black Grille, and the Grey Wheels, and a 302 V8. Whether or not this is a "beefed-up" V8 is a matter of debate. Obviously it's not the same 302 from the P71 Crown Victoria as that wouldn't work in a 6000 pound 4x4 Bronco.
I personally want to find as many facts about the 1993-1996 Police Package as posssible.
Has anyone owned one? Driven One? Inspected one? read any specs on one?
I have already ordered the Black Grille and Headlight Doors (I don't know why they call them doors, when they are just bezels) to replace my aging plastic chrome ones. I don't think I'll be switching to the plain grey wheels, they just don't look as good as my alloys. But, I'd like to find out as much about them as possible to see if I can get some of these parts for my ride.
The parts are the same that you would have found on the base model Bronco from the same year. Go searching the aftermarket online parts sites and look for the least expensive replacement prices. These should be what you are looking for. Public Sercive vehicles were all about functionality not flashiness. So no chrome, no alloys, no leather interior...maybe even a bench seat in lieu of the front buckets etc.
I owned a 1995 Bronco that was a Former police unit. Mine was actually a former drug enforcement vehicle!!! As far as what the differences from it were from a regular Bronco, really wasnt that much.
My Bronco had absolutely No Chrome. Any chrome it had was painted FLAT black. It had Black wheels also. It had the 302 motor, which seemed to have a tad bit more juice than the other 302"s I owned, but I suspect it was just that the shift points are different. Also my truck did have a full bench seat in front with no console and a rubber floor instead of carpet. My Bronco also had 2 antennas on the roof.
