Frame
I have a 1980 F-150 with the holes in the frame.I`m going to put a 351M in it. Now for the question would it be worth it to box it in? and if so with what size plat?thanks for any input

All of the 80's and 81's had the "Swiss cheese frame"
This was one of Fords feeble attempts at improving fuel mileage!
It is not recommended for snow plowing or hard "off road" use!
However, If you are going to use it as a "normal truck" you shouldn't experience any problems!
Rumor has it that 80 and 81 Ford trucks emitted a strange howling noise between 58 to 60 mph. It sounded similar to blowing air over a half-full bottle of Coke!

PS. About mid-decade they tried to reduce paint emissions by putting less paint on their trucks. They ended up eating "A LOT" of paint jobs!
