Front Shock Replacement

I've Done Front Shock Replacements Before, But Not For My 2002 F150, 2wd, 4.2. The Front Shock Tower Arrangement Puzzles Me. On Top Of Each Is A Plastic Valve Arrangement That Has A Plastic Brake Line That Goes To Each Brake . I've Never Seen One Like It Before. There Seems To Be An Additional Set Of Bushing And Nut On The Top Of The Shock...haven't Had A Chance To Get A Manual Yet.

Is The Procedure For The Stem, Just To Remove The Nut, Rubber Bushings And Washers To Release The Shock? Or Do I Have To Do Something Special Before Proceeding?

Thanks From A Newbie.....

Hi Ken and welcome

I think that what you're seeing on the top of the shock is just a clamp that holds the antilock sensor wire out of harm's way. It should just pop off the stud.
To replace the shock you've got it figured out. Just remove the nut, bushings etc.
You might have to hold the old shock shaft with Vise-Grips to keep it from turning. Dont use Vise-Grips or anything like that on the shaft of the new shock though or you'll ruin it.
