I'm looking at a truck sitting at a dealer. With the vin is there a way to tell the build date or any other info about the truck. The VIN is 1FTSW21P15EB81232
Actualy Ford's website said it was at the dealer. I called when they opened and they didn't expect the truck for another couple weeks. So it must be in transit.
I have run into this problem lately as well. In the last month I have purchased/leased 6 new Fords. 5 for work and 1 for personal use. I was amazed at how innacurate many dealer's websites were. A couple of them told me that they had certain cars available and in stock when I called them to confirm, and then when I got all of the paperwork in order a couple days later, they said they either had sold the car, or it wasn't at the dealer yet. I finally found a dealer that I was comfortable with and got my personal vehicle from him, unfortunately it was too late to deal with him on the company cars. I wonder how long it is going to take some dealers to figure out that they need to be accurate with their inventories and honest when you talk to them. I can't believe they can get away with running their business like that.
It showed up on Ford main website, and I went directly to the dealers website and it was there too, only to find out after the phone call it is in delivery. I wanted to do something by next week, so I this truck won't work. I posted another topic with a VIN of a truck a dealer gave me, but won't tell me where it is. Somewhere in Illinois.
I would like to look up the xplan price before I go negotiate.
