Ford Closing plants
I am going to say
I don't know about you guys but I never liked any of fords cars but the mustang.
The trucks, suvs are the good ones.
But seriously does anyone ever wake up one morning and say gee you know a ford tourus is my dream car?
:P not anyone I know of!
This plan they have is going to introduce 20 new or freshed products.
I sure hope they come out with some nice cars. I am sick of these Zx3 things and the escorts, it's all old news to me.
I am glad there is a change.
I sure would like to see the gt40 back. I hope they make a lot of them. I hate when a company makes this hella cool car but they only make like 26,000 of them. Your never going to get your hands on one when they do that.
Do you guys agree with me? That all the Ford cars excluding mustang are kinda like grandma cars? I have always felt that way and wished ford would change their ways and make something cheap that looks cool that has a F series engine under the hood. now that would certainly get me smiling
I hope they can get some of the old protype's from 50's & 60's
and design that never when to soap ,into production with of course,
Y2K+ technology in them.
Dennis

Not sure where to start. First off, Ford is a MAJOR publicly owned corporation. Therefore, making money is the bottom line. Do you have any idea what the trucks you love would cost if it weren't for "grandma" cars??? How Ford could possibly meet CAFE without paying major fines without selling the Focus or Escorts?
Hell ya a Taurus has been one of my dream cars. Ever hear of the 220 HP DOHC V6? Or the Taurus SHO V8 DOHC??? I owned the V6, it was actually faster(not quicker) than the same year Mustang GT. The new 200 horse 3.0L isn't half bad.
SVT will be releasing an import fighting Focus soon.
If anything, the Mustang(which I own a '97 Cobra) is a lame duck thanks to GM canceling the F bodies even though they have been handing Mustangs there **** now for 4+ years at the track.
GT40??? Why??? Do you have $150,000 to buy a single purpose 2 seater?
Yes it's beautiful but wouldn't the money be better spent giving us an HD V10 that's not at the bottom of the class Hp and torque wise?(BTW, I own a V10 also)or a Mustang that can beat the competition at the track instead of just sales?
Are you really glad that AMERICANS lost their jobs? Don't you think they should close the Mexico plants (where some of our precious F-series are made along with the Focus)and return the jobs back here???
Yes, Mexico deserves a chance at prosperity. But I don't believe at the expense of US workers.(I understand Canadian workers are involved also)
No, I'm not glad Ford is laying off workers. No, Im not glad that Japanese automakers build factories here and Ford builds plants on foreign soils for US consumption.
I'll agree with you on fresh products but don't be surprised when they cater more to main stream Mom & POP (the majority of the car buying public) than the pure enthusiast. Remember, ford has stockholders to answer to, not you and me.
