I really need to obtain some step bars for my truck. Looking for something that mounts in the factory holes if possible, and a decent sized foot pad. It's a heck of a step up for the g/f who is 5ft even.
I looked around and there are 40 different brands and I can't make heads or tails of any of it. Truck is a standard cab, btw.
I was checking for the same thing and the best looking step bar I could find for my truck F150 1994 Reg Cab was the Westin Step Bars.
But if your intested. I've found the exact same model for cheaper. They are called Raptor step bar and they are in stainless. The price is alot cheaper than the Westin.
I'm not sure for the brackets but it says that the brackets fits right on the truck.
Try J.C. Whitney. They have a full range of options and pricing. I went with the Outland and wife and daughter like them on my '94 F250 4x4. Drilling is required but were a snap to do. I went ahead and stopped by Lowe's and picked up some aluminum diamond plate to dress the door jamb where the bolt heads are. More support and looks good.

I bought my 2000 S-Cab and it came with the chrome Westin Step bars. I think they are definatly worth it. My Bronco had Carr steps on it, never trusted it one bit twisted and turned underweight. My 1986 150 had the old school style Dimond plate they were decent. By far the best looking and strongest have been the Westin's.
But if you can find the same stuff for less $$$ then more power to you. IMO the Westins are worth it
