Lightbulb What grade stainless?

I was doing some checks on my truck durring the last oil change and found that it looks as if the front break lines are a bit damp in one spot and I would rather fix this now then after they go out. I'm determined to not just replace but upgrade parts as well when I fix things on this truck. I know that I can get 304 stainless tubing with anywhere from .025" wall to .083" wall for about what I would pay for breaklines from the parts store. Does anyone make stainless flare nuts? I could buy the shortest pieces of steel lines they have at a parts store if I can't find the fittings but I would rather get stainless. What I was woundering is if 304 is hard enough for the lines and if anyone knows what wall thickness I should get, I don't think the standard steel is more than .050 but not sure.

Is there anywhere to get sectioned stainless lines? I checked all the parts stores around and couldn't find them.

Also while I was looking at the lines I noticed that the section from the master cylinder to the pro valve is coiled with a 1-2" diameter and about 5 coils, but the line looks stock. I understand the need for some extra for frame warp but is this much really necessary?

I don't think you want your break lines hard. A harder material will more likely to break or fracture if it's hit by something.

304 should be fine. 0.28 - 0.35 wall thickness should do as well, but it must be seamless so it doesn't split when you flare it.

Here's a place with some nice looking kits.
