When my truck was brand new, if you barley touched the throttle you could break your neck. 5,000 mile later there is about a one second delay in the throttle response. When you get your PCM re-flashed does it give you that break your neck feel again? Or in another 5,000 am I going to have to get another update?
A re-flash is an update to the on-board computer software. Engineers make changes to the software as problems arise. Once a change is flashed it stays forever or at least up until the next update. Since the computer controls the electronic throttle a re-flash could potentially modify throttle response. Perhaps you have some other problem not related to the computer program.
NOTE: the Flash comes directly from FORD and the installers at the dealership can not modify it by any means. So you can't may any request for special features or changes.
