how big are my tanks??

well, been wondering this for a while now, and without an owners manual in my truck, this is the best place to start. what are my fuel tank capacities in my '95 F250? gotta know how much fuel i can possibly burn right? i mean, what would a nice drive be without giving a ricer some unburned diesel in his window???

On my '95 crewcab, the listed capacities are 19.0/18.7 gallons. I've drained them both dry and refilled them, to see how much they'd hold. the front tank, listed as 19.0 gallons, will hold 22.0. The rear tank, listed as 18.7, will hold 21.0. Once my fuel gauge needle touches the red, I've got another 60 miles of freeway driving before it actually runs dry.
I hope this helps.

thanks a bunch Quad, it will give me a good idea on where i'm at when i fill up next time. i put 27 total, but thats also without topping it all off cause of the silly vent tubes i'll chop off someday. whats your average distance you run on a fill-up? if i'm nice to it or highway, 430-500 runnin both tanks low.

I normally take the time to top off the tanks completely, because I'm a nut about mpg, and don't like to have to stop any more often than necessary. This time of year, while running winter fuel, I run 625-675 miles in city driving between fillups. On vacation in the summer, I've gone as far as 800 miles without filiing up, but one tank was absolutely dry, and the other was so low I couldn't keep my eye on the road, watching that needle. I get 19.5mpg on the freeway, which helps.

Quadzilla gets much better milage than I do, perhaps it's the chip, propane or other modifications. My truck is totally stock, and I get around 280 miles per tank with highway driving, but only 200 miles in the city. I have also run both of my tanks completly dry, but can only put the posted capacity in them. Maybe I'm not waiting long enough for the foam to settle down?

like quad said. once your needle gets on "E" there is still a lot of fuel left in there. mine has 4 gallons left once i get to "E".

its good to know that i have a pretty decent buffer before going dry. i too am a nut about MPG, so i spend a lot of time watchin the trip odometer. knowin how much the tanks hold will give me somethin else to ponder about. i'll be fillin up in the next few days, so we shall see. thanks a bunch again.
