I just got a air compressor from my Grandmas and i was wondering how i could sandblast with it? I need to blast some paint on door jams etc on my 68 f100. I got the manual for it but it really doesnt have any info about sandblasting. Its Campbell Hausfeld, Cast Iron Series and the info on it says:
125 PSI Maximum
20 Gallon Tank
8.1 CFM @40 PSI
6.4 CFM @90 PSI
120/240 Volts
15/7.5 Amps
You will actually need to buy the gun and hose from any local parts store. You can even get the sand there also.
What happens is, you hook the hose and gun up to A/C and you have a siphon hose that goes in the bag of sand. As you release the air it siphons the sand from the bag at the rate the air is released. You should try to use it on something else first to make sure you get the hang of it. ALSO, wear a face shield and some good gloves. That sand and whatever else is coming off the truck it bouncing and flying around.
The hose and gun is really inexpensive and so is the sand.
Hope this helps.
Store bought brands really dont have enough power to deal with stuff like rust. if you want something that will take that off quick you really have to fabricate it or buy a proffesional one. i havent bought one in a store that i have been happy with yet.
