Question TPS is acting strange.

According to Hayes, resistance with the thottle valve fully closed should be between 3,0 - 4,0 k ohms and with the thottle valve wide open its should be around 350 ohms.

My TPS is acting the opposite way, closed 746 ohms and open 3,47 k ohms.

Has anyone else experienced this? Can I assume that my TPS is ok?

Check the voltage instead of the resistance, since that is what your PCM is looking for (key on, engine off) It should be less than .99VDC at idle and should go above 4 @ WOT, like 4.7 or something close. Also, check the sweep from idle to WOT to make sure there are not dead spots.

Make sure you are measuring between the correct wire leads.

VREF to TPS should work as the Haynes manual says. High resistance closed and low resistance open.

SIGRTN to TPS would work the way you are measuring. Low resistance closed, high resistance open.

i had the same thing on my truck. i think that the haynes manual has a misprint on which wires to test.
