Hole in the cat

I have the 1997 F150 2WD with the 4.2L engine. The exhaust system has 109,000 miles. I noticed that I have an exhaust leak at the right side catalytic converter. I cannot see the leak because of the heat shield. I will have to have this replaced by March when the state license is due. My question is: What replacement converter should I get. One of the popular auto parts stores has them listed from $65.00 to $200.00. Another store has them at $350.00. I’m not looking for increased performance, just replacement of OEM style converter. What is the difference between these converters? Thanks for your help.

Look for a Catco or Magnaflow convertor. The prices should be pretty good, and they are good products.

I recently replaced my converter with a MagnaFlow Hi Flo converter for $53 at our local auto parts store. No need to look for a expensive one that won't work any better.
