I just put the tray back on the F-1 for a trial fit and I have a bit of a clearance problem between the 9" centre and the floor.
I have 4" clearance between the axle tubes and the C notch, but only 2" between the top of the housing and the floor.
I still need to put a floor in the tray...so raising it 2" or putting a hump over the diff isn't much work....but ???.....I have seen heaps of pictures of very low F-1's and can't remember them having raised floors
No you are not missing anything. You can put taller boards under the tray as you call it so everything will move up. I have seen the boards relieved so the rear axle wouldn't hit. I have also seen a hole cut out of the floor and a metal plate relieved into the floor so it would be flat.
I'm going through that right now.Had the freshly stained oak bed installed before I saw the center section touching the wood.I'm ramping up 4" between the tubs.
