#1 on my 66 is for windshield washer #6 is a 4-way emergency flasher switch and the plug between #4 is where a cig lighter is hope this is some help
1= WW washer
2= Ignition switch Turn the switch to ACC, put a piece of hard wire in the hole next to the key, turn the key to the right and remove the lock cylinder. You should be able to tighten the switch bezel and reinstall the lock cylinder.
3= Lights
4= Wipers
5= Chrome plug is where the cigar lighter should be (toggle is add on)
6= Usually where the 4 way flasher switch is. Look to see if this is an electrical switch or a cable actuating whatever? If this is the four way flasher you are missing the indicator light usually placed next to the switch (you need one more hole)
7= Choke
8= Heater switch and air vent control (pulls out)
William & Prowler are right; the factory only installed a total of six slots for options under the dash bezel,(to the best of my knowledge) and two on the left side one for ingition and the other on top for windshiled wiper motor. I do like the passenger eject option though..
I don't know if it means anything but a friend of mine owns a 66 with a throttle in the #6 slot.. My 65 is empty on the #6 and Emergency is were the washer is above the key switch.
Just input

Reason: typo
Throttle is for larger trucks with a PTO. It is used to hold the engine at higher rpms while the PTO is engaged. This spot is usually plugged with a chrome button on F100's and F250's.
My #6 in a '61 has a red light in the center of a pull-on switch (looks the same as the other ***** except for the center) and it flashes when the 4 ways are working. Switch has a FoMoCo sticker on it so I suspect it was a dealer add-on.
5 is the hole for cigarette lighter...1 is the window washer...your truck is an early 66 as that is a 65 cab....washer switch location and I bet that if you look at the cowl access panels under hood....black oval plates, they are screwed in whereas 66 used plain pop in plugs ....gas pedal is bolted to floor on 65 whereas 66 its suspended off floor.
the toggle switch thing...I dunno...my 65 Ranger has that too in same location...mine had hang on A/C....also had camper/trlr wiring at one time too....
