Power steering and overdrive problems???
hey all,
i drive a 97 f150 4x4
i had a question about my power steering. it is making a really winey noise when turning as if it were out of fluid. but it is full. my mechanic said he doesnt' deal with p steering and i hadn't had a chance to ask someone else.
plus
my overdrive doesnt' work or light up. the button is on the gear shifter and just won't engage. any advice would be quite helpful.

Hi Tom and welcome to the forum 
Usually a noisy power steering pump will need to be replaced. Some people have good luck with additives such as Lucas makes but that will probably only be a temporary fix.
If you're cruising down the highway and press the O/D cancel button can you feel it kick out of O/D?
There is a bulb in the switch but you need to replace the switch to get it. It just pops out of the end of the shifter.
Another problem that is fairly common is broken wires at the base of the shifter, under the steering column covers.
