But any way on top of the bearing housing there is a fitting with a red cap ... Its not a grease/zert fitting .... what is it and what goes in there

Do you have manual 4WD or ESOF?

Yea - kinda makes you wonder what those guys are looking at, huh, Mike?

I think it boils down to just what that thing is. I have ESOF and don't have a clue.

Does it just tie right into the knuckle or is there a flange there?

If you do not have the Electronic Shift on the Fly 4WD, I would assume that plug is where the vacuum line goes to actuate the hubs.

If you have ESOF, then it is where the ball joint fluid goes. You guys really gotta change that fluid more often too! It's only a mixture of winshield wiper fluid and brake fluid at a 43/59% mixture.

Yep. It's just the fitting for the vacuum line for ESOF.

You guys are bad. Next you'll have him adjusting piston cables.

What?? I just adjusted my piston cables, re-packed the muffler bearings (much easier with the Gibson exhaust), rotated the lug nuts, and changed the air in the tires...

I remember when I was a kid we would say don't forget to check the headlight fluid. But now with nobody using sealed beams anymore you find a lot of cars that do have headlight fluid.
