I just bought a 64 F100 with a 292. I was wondering for future reference if I rebuild the motor, can you easily convert to a 368 or another larger displacement engine. This is my first experience with a y-block...I know it is particularly easy on the FE blocks. If it is possible and not overly difficult, how do you convert a 292 to a 368?
In that case you need to find a big series 1952-65 truck with a 279,312,302 or 332 and salvage all the necessary stick shift parts as Lincoln never offered a stick for that engine.
However instead of going backwards in years an FE is just about a bolt in.

Parts or very hard to find for that Lincoln Y, if you even find one. That and the transmission issue is a big problem, i too would go FE, either that or rebuild the 292.........Janet
