TCF bank

im thinking about changing banks, and opening a check account at TCF bank. they have them at all the cub foods around here, the hours are WAY better than at my current bank. does anyone have any advice or opinions on this ?

I'd suggest using a credit union over a bank.

i currently use a credit union, they close at 430 pm, so i never make it there on time when im done working they are closing the doors. plus, they only have one location which is ten minutes from me. Cub foods has a TCF, which is 3 minutes from me, open until at least 630 pm , and also on saturdays. thats why i am questioning if i should switch to TCF or not.

just wondering if anyone has any good or bad experiences with them.

No, I do not have experience with them. They are AMERICAN and I am CANADIAN! I prefer banks over credit unions mostly because of the hours. My wife has an account with a credit union. They are only open Mon-Fri from 10-4. My bank is open Mon-Fri 8-8 and Saturday 9-3. I don't mind the bank charges. It is less than $15 a month for a service I am using. You get what you pay for.

TCF is what I would go with if I was looking for a local bank. They are pretty nice for a bank. I had a savings account with them a long time ago that they screwed up pretty badly but they were pretty decent about it and fixed it immediately.

good choice I use TCF for my business banking & have only had good things happen.

They dont charge any monthly fee even on business accounts. No surprises or bait & switch.

go for it

I have no idea who TCF even is - we don't have them around here. For "big banks" we have National City, Union Planters, and Bank One. That's about it.

Company I work for just switched from Union Planters to a more local outfit Union Federal. Myself I use this little bank that's known more for it's agribusiness out in the middle of nowhere near Peoria, Illinois. No fees, even my printed checks are free. Direct deposit on my paychecks so I never have to actually step foot in the place.
