I am trying to be nice and give Ford a chance to fix a fuel system problem before I file a complaint with the NHTSA. There is already a recall for my problem on older models. I need the phone number of the Ford Regional Office that covers Colorado. Anyone out there know how to contact these guys?
I called Ford's main number. They made sympathetic noises then blew me off. Then, I called my local Ford Service Manager with my problem. He said he would pass on my request to the regional guy. Since then, he will not talk to me on the phone or return my calls. This whole experience is really improving my repurchase intentions regarding Ford (NOT).
I would just like for someone from Ford to be straight with me and tell me point-blank to get stuffed. It would really save me a lot of frustration.
Thanks for your assistance in advance,
Dan in Colorado
It's a 95 F-350. It is out of warranty but this is a recall issue. The check valve in the one of the fuel pumps leaks gas back into the tank when the other pump (dual tanks) is running. This fills and pressurizes the inactive tank. When you take the cap off to refuel, gas spews out under a lot of pressure.
A recall was issued by the NHTSA, 93V125000, covering this problem with 90-93 trucks. Ford, of course, is not going to do anything without being forced. I'm trying to give them a shot at fixing it before I start a campaign to get the recall extended to cover my truck. I really should just go ahead and do it because these guys are really starting go give me a case of the jaws. I'm retired and have time to burn on this project. It would be a lot cheaper for them to just fix my d***** truck.
