Front End Clunk
'94 AWD Areostar
When I pulled in the parking lot at work this morning the front end made a clunking noise and was not turning easily. It happened at slow speed turning to get into a parking spot. It acted similar to a 4wd truck with the hubs locked and on a dry surface.
Any thoughts, is this thing going to make it home!?!

Clunk
The general advice seems to be to unplug the AWD computer under the
drivers seat. If the clunk goes away you probably have a sensor or
wiring problem? I'm not an expert but I drive a '91 AWD and I read this
forum a lot. If the clunk stops w/computer unplugged it is probably safe
to drive home, it will of course be a 2WD van at that point. If the AWD
light is flashing the code can be figured out here.

I have a 94 2wd. Had a similar situation with a clunking sound when turning into my driveway. Turned out to be my tie rod. Worn rubber on it. Replaced it, clunk disappeared. Just a possibility, your 4wd may be different.
