I wish mine had the 2nd alternator...but the one that had most of the options I wanted that they were pushing did not...oh well
My need for the 2nd alternator was offroad lights, winch and stereo. Hopefully the single will handle this stuff OK.
I have looked into adding the 2nd as an option and this has been described as "extremely problematic." Unless it comes from the factory with 2 it is difficult to make it work correctly (as stated above).
I don't notice any difference in power when I turn on my AC. Yes it places an added load on the motor, but that is what the 325 HP and 560 TQ is all about.
Again, this option is less than 1% of the total vehicle cost.
I believe it will be good for resale value as well.
Shouldn't a pitch be to help sell equipment though. Not discourage it. This is not the same dealer as my post in the new buyer forum.
If a salesman has no dual-alternator trucks on the lot, and you say you want dual alternators, then he will tell you they are a bad thing. They would much rather sell you a truck on the lot than have to order one for you.
I agree. My dealer didn't have any dual alt. trucks either, (most don't), so I ordered mine. Turned out to be a better deal for me cuz the dealer didn't mark up their cost for overhead, etc. Invoice + about $800. Worth looking into, when you are spending this kind of $$$, get what you want.
