It's a white 02 f350 lariat 4x4 with 47k on the clock. The interior is flawless tires in good shape engine appears to be tight and sound. Sprayed in bedliner, sliding rear window and good tint on the windows. Drives great and I was wondering what you think would be a good price. The dealer is asking 21K for the truck. Now before you give me your input there is something you should know. the exterior of the passenger door was hit to the point it has ripple dents along the side door strip and a good crease below the door ding strip. the passenger side nerf bar took a good hit. if it were not for the fact that it was attached to the truck, it would look like a "V". Also, The truck when put into four wheel drive makes a on and off whistle type squeek from the front end of the truck when the wheels roll. So along with asking what you think the truck is worth, I would also like your input as to what you think the whistle/squeek is. V-10s are scarce in my area and I'm thinking that if the 4x4 problem isn't too big, I'll negotiate into the deal and have it repaired myself along with the door damage.
Thanks in advance for any input and comments you have.
I bought an 01 crew with the lariat package virtualy flawless everywere for 22700, I think you can do better, there was an 02 350 cloth crew in my area for 23900 all white 96k on it with a few scratches in the bed but nothing else.
First thanks to all that have replied. As I get into it more it doesn't sound like such a good deal. The noise in the 4x4 mode really bothers me and I've asked several Ford dealerships and they all say pretty much what all of you have said.
I'd persue it more however, I don't think this dealer is going to budge much. I'm just worn out looking for a V-10 in the configuration that I want. Is there any one in the Fort Worth Texas area that might know where a good V-10 may be? There scarce in them here parts.
127082: look at ebay!!! I have been looking also and I'm frustrated that all the nice trucks are in TX and that's the Dallas / Fort Worth area. I bet 75% of all the F-250s and F-350s on ebay are from TX. If you look long enough you can find a good deal. You would even be able to inspect them before you even bid on them....
EBAY LOL i watched trucks on ebay for 3 weeks, not once did i see them sell it for less then they realy wanted, the only ones that did sell were the PSD's with over 120k miles and not much extra's, i bet since you are a local that you could get a better deal if you walked in to one of the ebay sellers shops. they all were real nice in communicating just wouldnt budge on the ebay price.

Where is this truck for sale ? A Ford dealer ? An independent ? Pay $100 to have an independent mechanic look at it, or preferably a Ford mechanic at a different Ford garage if it's at a Ford dealer. What would the dealer sell it for after repairs ? Do some research first. It's not necessarily a bad truck, you just need to get into it a little more, sometimes you can find great deals with something a little off center. Look into some more, call the previous owners, good luck, Ken

If I was trying to find a 64 Savoy with the drag pak, or a clone of the same, or something odd, I would look on E-Bay. To buy a $20,000 newer Ford pick-up ? No, local deals will not be nationally advertised so should go for less money, nor get involved in a bidding frenzy and be close enough to handle a problem if there is one. Why does a car/truck go on E-bay ? Same reason they go to the auction, nobody has bought them at a typical retail store. And why haven't they ? There IS a reason, whether the owner is trying to get a higher price, which is OK, or there's something in that rigs local past that the guy 2,000 miles away won't know. Use E-bay to compare, use E-Bay to find bigger dealers who have lots of trucks like you want, then contact them directly, go online and look in cities close to you for trucks. Call your local banks, credit unions to see if they have repos, etc. Texas isn't a great place for trucks to age, and there's good reasons for that. Good luck, Ken

The truck I'm looking at is on a Chevy dealer lot. According to the autochek report it was purchased at auction.

Here's why cars go to auction, either online or locally; because they sit on dealers lots for too long, become 'old units' or a private party is hiding something and hoping to capitalize on the anonymity E-bay gives. Private parties don't go to auctions, it's dealers only, usually. Online auction is open to everyone, but a heck of a lot harder than parking it at the Sav-On Foods parking lot with a sign in it, or spending $20 to put an ad in your local paper. It's after all the previous has been tried, that vehicles go to auction. A wholesaler saw this truck at auction, bid on it, and then sold it to a dealer. It's how business is done everyewhere in the US. Dealers don't buy from E-Bay, wonder why ? Good, clean cars are fairly easy to sell, nuff said, Ken
