Seat trade

Do you guys know if it is possible to take the non-heated bucket seats out of my 04 cc lariat and put a heated bench seat in. The option is available to me. I am just not sure if it will work. Are the wiring harnesses alike? Will the heated seats work in a truck originaly made without them? I originally ordered a bench and the truck came in wrong. I took it, but still wish I had the bench. Thanks for any help you can provide.

I asked a similar question to my dealer regarding the reverse sensors. My truck does not have them and I wanted to add the Ford reverse sensor system. Dealer claims that if the truck does not come with the option, it will not be wired for it. I have a hard time believing that the build different harnesses depending on what options you buy but the dealer insisted this is true and used heated seats as an example.

Assume for a minute that the dealer was telling the truth (and I have not yet made any effort to determine if he is). Your situation may be different. If you ordered the truck with heated seats, I have to believe it is possible that they installed the wiring for it and just installed the wrong seat. My guess is that it will depend on where the mistake was made and if the heated seats were included on the build sheet for your truck. I have heated seats in mine. If you would like, I will take a look tonight and see if I can determine how the seats are wired and where the plug is located, and what color the wires are. Just let me know.
