Anyone know where this thing would be hideing on a 96 f-350?
I'm trying to figure out why my washer motor comes on in the middle of the night and empties my fluid. The ignition is in the off position and it is getting power from someplace but I can't seem to figure it out. I can hear the motor wineing in the morning and I can usually get it to shut off by messing around with the plug to the motor. If I tear the box/motor apart and reassemble-it works fine--but only if the ignition is on (Like it is suppose to). The switch trips a relay under the dash so it seems to work fine. Humidity has been really high lately but i have a hard time believing that moisture is causing it. Any thoughts on a fix or where that box is so I can see where the voltage is getting into the circuit. If I pull the fuse to the wipers/washer when the washer motor is running, it keeps running. It is getting juice from someplace. Gremlins!
OK, that must be what I hear when I key the washer switch (up under the glove box). Still can't figure out where the power is getting into the circuit though.
So what I've got is voltage on both ends of the black/white stripe wire. That is the wire from the wiper control module to the washer motor. My guess is that it must be damaged in the harness someplace and is getting voltage that way. Is my take on this correct or does my book leave out a possible module or junction elsewhere where the voltage may be coming from. So if this wire is bad, can I just run a new line from the module to the motor??? I can't imagine trying to search out the brakes in the wire harness.
Thanks again
