Steering woes

Well today I was out screwing around in the snow in the fine state of maine, and went to turn into a parking lot that had a snowbank in front of it. Long story short, there was a very large log under the snowbank. I was probably going about 10 mph in 4x4 and my front right tire went over the log and the truck slammed down on my axle and side steps, and ended up with that tire off the ground, and had to get pulled off by a chevy(urrrgg). No visible damage to the side steps or axle but my steering is screwed up. The steering wheel is off center and binds hard in certain spots. Haven't looked at it too much, but everything looks straight at a glance. Any ideas? 99 F-250 4x4 psd.

Without looking at it, I'd venture to say that you bent a tierod or steering linkage. Hard to say without putting an eyeball on it hough.

Thanks for the quick reply max. Still haven't looked at the truck yet, but I don't think there will be massive carnage. Do you think there was enough force to crack the steering box output shaft? I'd have to say there wasn't but have heard horror stories about shafts breaking while driving down the road. I'd like to avoid that. Thanks again
