The ABS (Anti-lock braking system) light on dash remains illuminated. The light comes on went I start the vehicle and goes off for a second but come back on. The manual says the light should illuminate when starting, but go off after the vehicle is running. Does anyone know the why this light would remain on? My vehicle is a 1994 F250 4X4 with the 5.8 engine.

 

The light always first comes on for a bulb check. I have heard that if everything is normal and the light is off till you start moving, then there is a problem with one of the wheel sensors.

 

I found a broken wire after looking around under the truck. I repaired the yellow wire and the ABS light is now off. I have another truck with a similar ABS light problem and I will check the wheel speed sensor. Are their sensors on the front wheels in the 1994 trucks? Thanks for all your help.
