radiator woes
was cool for three years, yesterday i took the kids sledding,on the way home ,we stopped at a stop sign and when i took off there was a loud pop,i thought i ran somethin over until the smell hit me.
popped the hood and there it was that clever piece of rope had pulled my top radiator hose down into engine pulleys.
the problem is when it pulled the hose it broke the plastic hose connection cleanly off of radiator.
now after boring you with all this blah blah blah
im wondering if i can use jb weld or some kind of plastic cement to repair this problem.
has been a good family van and it doesnt owe me nuthin.
but if i can rig it ,it would be in my best interest.
this van i am selling because we dont need three vechicles
thanks for any help

You can learn about it at this site www.coolchem.com when you type in the code SR5 at the site they let you order a pack pretty cheaply I've tried the stuff and so far I'm impressed.
This stuff literally bonds plastics, rubbers, metal, and many other things together that you can't break with your bare hands. I bonded a hose in a loop tried to break the bond by stretching the hose just like I saw in a demo and I couldn't believe it was true even with all my strength it just stretched like a rubber band.
This stuff has 2 parts the adhesive and the hardener you apply the adhesive put the parts together and then apply the hardener and within seconds its solid as a rock.
Now I've never tried it on a radiator or used it on any auto system I purchased it for pure curiousity but it does bond plastic.
Its really not wise to use adhesive on a pressurized and not to mention crucial system like this I don't endorse this product in any way just providing my personal experience with it.
The only true fix I can think of is replacing the rad for about $100-$140 if thats not in your budget you could take a chance with this at your own risk.
