Percy's Header Gaskets....

Percy's Header Gaskets....
Yeah I just put some new Percy's dead soft aluminum header gaskets on my BBK shorties and they suck. Is there any trick to stopping minor exhaust leaking? Only thing I was trying to do was quiet it up some but actually it is worse. Let me make sure that I installed them correctly. Smooth side against the motor or smooth side against the headers? This is really fustrating.... Thanks for any help.

Smooth side goes to the engine, I use RTV ultra copper around the intake ports on both sides of the gasket and let it tack up for 10-15 minutes and bolt them on. I haven't had any probs with my Percy's gaskets yet but I always use silicon when intalling headers so I don't know if that's the difference or not.
