fit and finish is very lacking. For someone planning on doing it in their driveway I highly discourage it. The slip fit connectors are so loose that they wouldnt clamp on the other pipes, only thing that actually fit was the muffler. I had to cut slits in the slip fit connectors so that they would tighten down.
How do you keep yours polished so well? I have the B&B stainless and I can't keep mine polished for nothing. It looks great for about a day or so but the first puddle I hit just trashes 'em.
...I have to admit that I probably go overboard as far as maintenance...but since this is my daily driver coupled with the fact that I will be in this truck for a long long time...I kinda justify it to myself. (Don't tell my wife, but she thinks I have PSD OCD)...LOL.
I wash the truck probably once a week...in addition to after every rain. The truck sits up high enough to where it is pretty easy for me to get under there. So far, the only thing I do is wash the underbody/exhaust real quick followed by the body. Then I dry the parts underneath I dont want to corrode. Weather dependant I will hit those parts real quick with some polish for protection. I use a sponge applicator pad and a clean t-shirt to wipe it off...10min tops to get the exhaust done.
The only time I had to hit the polish hard was when I took the truck up to IL for the X-Mass holidays...the salt on the wet roads really did a number on it. Took me a while to get it back to normal that time....not to mention my springs! For the springs I got a small brass brush and got all the surface rust spots off the sides..then wiped it down and followed up with some gloss black rust preventative to get them back to looking like new.
Can you say '**** retentive'??!! Just kidding man. Your truck is in absolute prestine condition. Plus, with all the time and money you have in it you'd just be ****ing it away if you didn't keep up on the thing. I'm just like you when it comes to these kinds of things.
Dang Bear! I guess I've given up on keeping my truck super clean after the first dent (first of many might I add). I got under mind and polished it twice (great when they're lifted, you can sit up underneath it) and since then, I've given up. I do clean up the muffler though since it's the most visible part. ha ha. Anyways, bear your truck is definitely top notch! Too bad you're in another state, I'd have hired you to clean mine!
