Saying goodbye

Thanks to all that have helped with some of my questions thru the years, and the interaction I've had here. I am leaving as the lost of the Wisconsin chapter leaves me out in the cold literally here in Wisconsin. I have tried to organize and form a chapter but lack of interest?, or for whatever reason we as a group could not come together.

That doesn't mean you have to leave. You could talk to Dennis and maybe you could be the leader of the chapter. If you do that at least it will stay open then you could maybe get some ideas from the Chapter Leader Discussion forum about how to "recruit" people. Don't leave. BUT, if you do, you'll be back!

Hi Mick. .I'm sorry to hear about your chapter closing.I'v found that a lot of these northern chapters are a bit slow and hard to organize.I'm a member of the New England Chapter, and it took 5 states to organize our chapter. It's still slow at times.lol.
I can relate to the feeling of being left out in the cold.As far as I can tell I'm the only member of my chapter in the whole northern half of Maine.
Our chapter had a meet this summer, but I would have had to travel about 6-7 hours to attend it.
Perhaps you and a few other members might be able to get it back up and running in the future.
I hope you decide to stay.

Hey .. if the chapter is the only reason you are leaving then DON'T. Not all chapters are as active as the next. I have four states in my chapter and even at that, trying to get activities going has been a challenge. I just keep plugging along and trying to generate activity. Besides .. FTE isn't only about the chapters, it's about helping each other and the new folks who have just discovered us.

Mick, I really don't know why you are leaving.
If anything the chapter needs users to fully function as a team.

I can re-open the chapter anytime.
Just get some activity going in there.

The only reason it was closed is because people weren't active enough to even pick a leader.

Mick,
Everyone here (myself included) wants you to stay. If you cannot get a chapter to make a decision and elect a leader, then take command of the situation and declare yourself Supreme Leader - I doubt anyone in the chapter would object!

Even if you can't get anyone in the chapter to come together, it doesn't mean you have to leave FTE - there are LOTS of folks in here that don't belong to a chapter! Heck all of Alaska used to be "free agents" until this month!

We have 3 states in our chapter with basically 4 major cities. We are always planning get togethers but I'll tell you that it's not as easy as it sounds. At our first several get togethers here in Spokane we only had a couple people show up. I made the 5 hour drive to Portland for a meeting there and only 3 people showed up. It was disappointing but now we're getting more and more people to participate. Seattle just had their first meeting with probably 15 people but it took us better than 6 months to get it organized.

Don't be too discouraged about the chapter being slow. Give it time and keep posting . . . others will join you.
