When my dad and i dropped his truck off at the dealers today, i saw a couple of the f-250's with the 6.0 in them, now i always saw them there but never had time to really look at them, just drive by and look. so while we were picking up his truck we saw a mountaineer for sale and my dad was filling out the paper work since he decided to get it for my mom, anywhoo, i was bored and went outside to check out the 6.0's, the keys were in a couple of them, it was about 30F and i let the glow plugs run for about 10 seconds after the light went out, after about 5 fast turnovers she fired up and man o man did it sound sweet!! compared to the 7.3, so i told my dad that he had to drive it ( i would but im only 15.....unfortunately) hes been looking at the 6.0's but hes waiting a few more years until they fix all the bugs, b/c wasnt it first with the injectors and now the tranny. anyway, we took off and when it hit normal operating temp i told him to floor it and that hed be surprised, and i had never been in the 6.0 yet, so when it downshifted and started towards its 4200 RPM redline with the turbo screaming, we were planted in the seats until we hit 80, we were both amazed at how fast this truck was.....for 7000 pounds! i thought i just had to share my experience because now i know what everyone is talking about when they say how fast and powerful it is, i just cant wait until i get my liscence b/c i want that 6.0!
In 2 more years, it'll be the new 6.4 Twin Turbo. No sense in waiting any longer.
