gauge questions

Hello ford truck enthusiasts,
I have a 2000F-350 with a powerstroke. I have installed an A-pillar pod. In the highest pod I have a pyrometer then in the middle I have the exhaust pressure and the bottom I have a transmisson temp gauge. Well thinking that having the full gauge cluster from the factory(speedo, tach, water, volt, oil, and fuel) and then having these three a guy would be satisfied well I'm not. I would like to install an oil temp and fuel pressure up too. I plan on installing a steering column gauge bezel from autometer. The only two things that I'm wondering is where to hook up the fuel presure(is it one of the two bolts on front of the head?) and where is a good source to hook up the oil temp. Any comments would be extremely helpful, and or a good online source of information of the 7.3liter with the view of places to hook these up.

i would just put the isolater in right after the fuel pump. oil temp can go in teh plug that is in the filter assymbly the plug with the square head on it. oil pressure is another nice one to have on our trucks since the existing is only a switch that turns on at 6 psi. can get the parts to tee into where the existing sender is on the top of the HPOP res. its jic threading most hydraulic shops have the fittings needed.

On the Driver's side of the fuel filter assembly there is a thing called a Schrader Valve, it looks like a valve stem for a tire, unscrew that and use that as your fuel pressure point. You will have to buy an isolater if you are gunna have the fuel pressure gauge inside the cab, there not to insanely priced. Summit racing sells the isolator, with all the tubing for like $60.

Like Jack said, use the plug above the Oil Filter is a good place to get your Oil Pressure reading.

the plug on the oil filter assymbly is good for oil temp but NOT for pressure. when i had a lifter break out of the bore i still had good pressure down there but not up top. the oil pressure sender needs to be in the hpop resivoir to be effective. my fuel and oil pressure gauges are full sweep electric gauges and they come with everything you need to connect them. then you dont have to deal with an isolater and have more tubing run into the truck that can leak and cause problems with accuracy on the gauge. the electrics are much much easier

Interesting, I guess I will have to break out the oil system and look at that.
