Problems with motorcraft carb
Here is my bugger. I can't seem to get this stupid, smog era piece of garbage dialed in. I pulled the carb, cleaned it, put it back on without the egr valve, and now when I fire it up it screams to 4000 rpm. I am not very knowlegable with these 2 barrels(2150 I think) and an edlebrock carb/intake is in the works, but for now I just need the truck to run. If any one can tell me what I'm doing wrong, I would love the help. Thanks

You really need the EGR valve, make sure the carb isn't sticking open, then look for vacuum leaks. That carb and intake are designed to operate with the EGR valve in place. Make sure ALL the vacuum ports on the carb have either hoses or plugs on them.
