Cool 97 4.2l

I had a post up on my 4.2 earlier thinking it was the head gasket but after I got into it, the whole engine's shot, seized up.

Any suggestions on where to get a remanufactured 4.2L? The truck's in too good of shape to just let it go. I figure if I sink a few grand into an engine, I should be able to get at least five more years out of it.

I'm very frustrated as I've been reading similar horror stories on the site and I'm also ticked that Ford won't stand behind their lemons. Obviously they're not all bad but there are enough out there that Ford should honor the lemons.

I vote for a class action suit!!!!!!!!

That's not good

I work at a Ford dealer so we use Motorcraft reman engines. I think they are better than most other rebuilds because they are built to Ford's standards, use more new parts, have any updated parts that came out etc. They probably do cost more though.
You might also want to ask in the 4.2 forums which is ways further down on the main forum page. The guys in there will probably know better what's available.
