The trim is XL: base, vinyl, nothing power. XLT: power windows, locks, mirrors, cloth seats, better radio, AC, option of electric 4x4, etc. Lariet has leather, random extra options, bucket seats, etc. And of course you can add some of these features to other trim levels.
As far as 150, 250, etc.... F150 is the half ton version, can carry anywhere from 1000lbs to 2000lbs depending on the year (2000 can handle 1500lbs, 2004 can handle more) There is a 3/4 ton version of the F150 called the F250LD or F150 7700, again depending on the year. It can handle 2500-3500lbs in its bed. No F150 can handle a diesel (at least as a stock option).
The F250 is the 3/4 ton version, can handle 1500-3000lbs. The F350 comes in a dually or single rear wheel version, can handle anywhere from 1800lbs to the all time max of the 2005 5500lbs!
There is bigger in the F-Series, including the pickup based F450 and F550, and the tractor-based F650 and F750. All are chassie cabs, and you can get 4x4 up to the F550. Last time I checked, the F550 could handle something like 7500lbs and had a GVW of 25,999, and could tow upwards of 20k. All have the same trim levels as the others.

Thanks. I need to update the pictures though I already took off the factory runnung boards and put in tube style nerf bars. I just like the look better. I cannot complain about the truck at all. Yours is great looking too.
went from a 97 xL to a 2001 XLT with PLOOD (plastic wood) dash, to a 2003 Lariat with all the leather and bells and whistles....same truck, just more toys, and the dog likes to stick her head out the electric rear window, and the moon roof!
Enjoy.
