Well heres the update on my o4 150 screw.I dropped it of on thursday 01-06-05 for steering wheel nibble that comes and goes at highway speeds and when its cold, (vibration/bounce). They told me that could be flat spots on the tires, but its more noticable at higher speeds. Well they called me friday and said they couldnt reproduce my concerns. I just got back from the dealer after taking their so- called tech out in my truck. They give my truck to a tech that looks like he just graduated from High school to diagnose my truck. After taking him out, he feels my "cold" vibration/bounce, but I couldnt get the nibble to reproduce only because were getting hit with a snow storm and the roads were nasty. I asked him about road forcing the tires and doing the EVA test to prove to me there is no viration as they state. The tech tells me they dont have either of the machines. Well I told him I want it sent to another ford dealer that has the machines to do this and he tells me he doesnt know of any around my area.He told me to talk to the service manager and see what could be done.. Im just wondering if anyone else has had a similar problem of their dealer not having the equipment to "prove" there is or isnt a vibration?
Dude....the problem is not the tires! The issues is not the "balancing act" the dealers will put you through. You're local tire shop should be able to balance them just fine but they have troubles. I have a tire shop I've used for years and they finally gave me my money back on a new set of tires because they couldn't solve the problem with any tire they sell!
Went down that long nasty road only to prove it wasn't the tires after the special machines was used by the dealership. Look up the TSB's for these issues and you will see there is a series of fixes which work for some, but not everyone.
I'm not saying every truck has the problem as bad as mine, but it does seem to come up pretty often.
