Wheel Adapters

Anyone know where I can get some cheap wheel adapters for my 55? My 1955 F-100 is set up for Ford car wheels (5 X 4 1/2) and I want to put on some old Ford truck wheels (5 X 5 1/2) that I have. It's currently on blocks and jack stands. It's so I can move my truck around in the garage. I can't use wheel dollies because the floor is wood and dollies, as well as my floor jack sinks into the wood . I looked at adapters on the web and they're pricey . Any ideas?

Why not use car wheels and tires? You can get a cheap set of junk car tires/wheels for a song if you just need to move it around on the garage floor. If you lived closer, you could have my spare set of 5x4.5" car wheels mounted on treadless junk used tires.

Ask for the spare donut tire you might get these really cheap and they should be in good shape since they are always in the trunk.

Ansen made excellent quality adaptors some years back. Ive bought several sets off Ebay in the $25-30 a pair range.

Ranger pat and christopher2, That's something to think about. My only problem is space. I have a very small garage, but still that coud be a plan, getting car wheels and maypops or space savers. Also, if I do get the adapters, I already have a set of truck wheels and maypops that came off my 81 F150 truck that I could use. I also have a set of American Racing aluminum wheels, 15x7 10 spoke Vectors that are on my 81 F-150 that they stop making 20 years ago that would look good on the 55. Eventually the 55 is going to have a set of 1960's American Racing Torq Thrust D's that came with the 55 when I bought it a long time ago. Decisions Decisions.
And 286merc, thanks for the idea of Ansen wheel adapters. I'll check them out on ebay. Thanks everyone

Becareful with the wheel adapters, I had one come loose. Could have been my own fault as these were aluminum and I didn`t want to over tighten so I may not torqued them enough. No harm was done, it was noticed in time.
