Hi. I've got a problem with my 1992 Ford F250 5.8L 351W automatic that I think you guys could help me with. I used to drive my truck around town for about an hour then the truck started sputtering and backfiring after I pressed on the gas some more, then it would eventually die and shut off. I would have to wait about 15 min. then restart it and drive about 2 miles and it would do it again. I thought it was my exhaust because I was running it out my Cat. converter. No muffler or pipes. But now that I have my Exhaust redone with 2 flowmaster 40's and no cat it starts to die around 15 minutes instead of an hour. I changed fuel pump, Fuel filter, Control module, and Throttle position sensor. Can ya'll help me? Thank you for ya'll's time.
Coil, ignition module, or pickup inside dizzy. Fuel pump getting hot?
You can try ot cool down the ignition parts with a product called freeze it. It is made ot test electronic parts for heat issues. I have used it and have found modules and pickup coils that where heat sensity.
