I had one, can't say it helped with the mileage any, exhaust temps were down.... Oh yeah one more thing it helped remove my factory warranty!

The MAC intake is great. It lowered my egt's and helped my milage; not to mention the way it sounds, you can really hear the turbo and it sounds sweet. You will build a good bit more boost over stock with the MAC intake. Good luck.

A LOT of discussion about this....
and what I've personally taken away from it is that the stock system works QUITE well, and aftermarket filter kits have been a focus for warranty issues...
but that's just my opinion... YRMV

i PUT IN AN AIRAID REPLACEMENT FILTER. I got the same effect of the turbo noise that you guys did. picked up 1 - 1.5 mpg gain and a seat of the pants performace gain.

How do you know that Ford removed your factory warranty? How many miles were on your truck. And what was the reason that you took your truck into ford. I have a MAC intake, and have taken my truck in to for free oil changes and nothing has been said to me about it. But If I ever had a motor problem, or any other major warranty work done I would take it off.

Yes I like it alot. As far as better mpg. I did not see any, but its hard to keep my foot out of it. Like to hear the whistle. And as far as power did not see any big differance, but after programmer I dont think any air filter will show the same performance. It did seem to help the turbo lag a very minor amount. And I think it has a very show like appearance. The crome really stands out when you open the hood.

Didn't one of the guys have a problem a couple months ago where he was driving in the rain and the filter got all wet and collapsed inward on itself? Don't remember who it was, but I'm pretty sure it was a MAC or AFE intake. I would like the whistle, but I drive in very dusty conditions in the summer and everyone says the stock intake system is pretty good, so I'm leaving mine alone for now.
