Re-attaching door moulding

any tips on reattaching the rubber moulding on the lower quarter on the body of an 88 F250?. I am pretty sure it is a common occurance. I am just looking for some hints to prevent it from happening agin.

You must first remove all of the existing double sided tape from the moulding by trimming it off with a razor and removing the remaining glue with an adhesive remover. With all of the old glue cleaned off the moulding and the body, reapply the double sided tape to the moulding similar to the way it was originaly on there. If your moulding has aluminum strips embeded into the moulding underneath the old double sided tape, which a lot of Fords have mouldings like this, they will also need to be removed before putting new tape on if the moulding is distorted in any way. I usually heat the strips up and peel them off with vise grips. You will have to get the strips really hot and it will probably take a while to get 'em off. Be carefull not to ruin the molding while doing this. Make sure the pannel is clean and dry before re-applying the moulding. You can find double sided tape and adhesive remover in any good parts or body supply store. The key is to have everything as clean as possible. It also seems to help if the moulding and the pannel are good and warm before applying.
