I haven't noticed any problems with my 05 with 360 miles on it. The dealership is still looking into the Conti's on my truck, according to independent tire shops, the issued is load capacities, BFG are the highest rated capacities in 18" at this time, the fleet sales person still trying to get a Ford tech to shed light on Fords recommondation on tires. The dealership says they will replace or buy me AT tires, I am willing to buy my own 17" wheels if they foot the bill on the tires.

This work being done under warranty and by an authorized Ford service center makes it kind of hard for them to do anything other than what they can get authorized to do through Ford's Hotline. We are pretty much at their mercy as far as what they decide to do. Does anybody have any suggestions as to how to get a more direct response from Ford Engineering?
You don't happen to work for Sid Richardson Gas do you?

haha

Put on a replacement front bumper and it will weight down the front and evenly distribute the weight of the rat pack and all that junk you have in the bed of the truck.

05 alignment specs

He was only able to get part of it with the adjusters that were on the truck, but has ordered new adjusters that will allow him to get to where they want. He did say that there was some improvement in the way the truck handled with the adjustment that he was able to make. BTW, thanks for the replies.
Just got my '05 F-350 back from the dealer. I had a drift to the left and the proper alignment required new adjusters on the left side to get the caster/ camber/ toe correct. Without the new adjusters they couldn't get the alignment in spec. FYI the Ford Specified Ranges are: Camber -.08 to 1.3 Caster 1.5 to 5.5 Toe -0.11 to 0.14.
According to the data sheet left in the truck the Left Front Toe was -0.43, Right Front toe was -0.45 and the total toe was -0.88.(out of specs) After the alignment total Toe was -0.01. Truck rides straight as an arrow.
BTW dealer was Jo Rizza Ford in Orland Park, IL. They did a nice job. Truck has 3000 miles, and this was a warranty repair.

I work for a fire department that runs an ambulance. We have a 2002 F-350 2 wheel drive that experiences the same problems. We've taken it to the dealer numerous times and the only thing they end up doing is changing the rotors and pads. People always say it's your tires doing that or your brakes but it's not. I've worked on cars since I could pick up a wrench and I know better. I've looked at the frontend myself and cannot find anything loose. One thing that starts the "DW" is warped rotors which I know is A problem but not THE problem. Warped rotor's initiate "DW". We also get "DW" when it hits a large pot hole in the road and one other time just cresting a hill. As Baja SD noted we do have a lot of weight but really it's only enough just to rest on the overload springs. Infact most of the weight is in front of the rear axle. Adjusting the alighnment I think is the best advice I've heard yet. Especially when there is nothing loose. Anyway I just wanted to support capmjack, that we have the same problem and it's not an isolated case. BTW we have a 1998 E-350 ambulance that has never done this, and a 2000 F-450 4x4 Brush Truck that has a flatbed, 300 gallons of water and a pump. It will stop on a dime and has never had a Shimy or "DW". Go figure!
