Melted Connector

Okay guys I have a question on a connector in the engine compartment of a 1992 Ford F-150 302 EFI engine. I had a connector touch the exhaust manifold on the drivers side of my engine and it melted the plastic on the connector completely, okay the connector looks exactly like a spout connector that you disconnect when you time the truck, but it's not the spout connector it looks like another spout connector? What purpose does the connector to do for the truck or engine may I ask?

Do you have a picture or wire colors maybe? The only other connectors that I can think of that look like the SPOUT are the injector plugs, and possibly the power steering pressure switch.

it mght be the power steering pressure switch connector. mine has the same thing but is not used. if you have the 302 efi w/ E4OD then there is no pressure switch. all other 302's w/C6 or manual will use the pressure switch. if you've got the 351 then it will not use it. i guess they just included the connector in the vehicle harness. i do not know what Ford's stratigy is on when to use it or not to use it.
