I burped...

I started picking op on the radiator burping issue and decided to look under the hood. 12/05 build date, 800 miles, bone stock. Antifreeze splatter all around the 'bottle'. I haven't gotten enough info off the site to figure out if it's a problem. Is it?

Make sure the coolant is at or just below the min line on the bottle. Make sure the cap is tight and holding pressure. Clean up the spots and see if they return. If they don't, I don't think you have a problem.

Many, like me, have had the cap replaced because it did not hold the required 15 lb pressure...

But even after replacing the cap (under warranty) I let the coolant level stay at the level it wanted to.... below minimum as SBV stated...

This is one of those little irritating issues that I am surprised that Ford has not resolved at this late date. I would think that the '05 should not be encountering this problem.

I was wondering if the cap is holding enough pressure for the system. I have had a similar problem with dirt bikes and always ended up solving the problemwith a higher pressure cap. Hmm.

My 05 had some spots on the plastic pieces on delivery/test ride.. Less than 5 miles on the clock.. The degas bottle was 'full up' like some of the others here.. I reached over and gave it a spin, and it pulled down a bit tighter before the click.. So far, no more white dots!!
