help with odd noise
recently, my 93 f150 with the formidable i-6 has started making a rumbling noise that seems to come from the passenger side of the motor, near the smog pump. it almost sounds like bearings rubbing.
it seems to be draining some power from the motor, as well as making the pedals vibrate. it only does it at idle, and mostly when it's cold.
if possible, i'd like to remove the smog pump assy anyway, as arkansas has no inspection at all, let alone emissions tests. for reference, it's a 93 f150, EFI, M4OD. replaced the exhaust from the cat back with a high-flow glass pack muffler. other than that, it's stock.
