Popping noise
I have a 1982 Ford F-100. I live in a cove so when i drive off i have to go around the cove to go out of the neighborhood. As I am doing this i hear this loud pop coming from the back of the truck. It does this also sometimes when I am backing out of my driveway. Can anyone tell me what might be the cause of the noise and if so how I can fix it?

Popping noise
Ford trucks are notorious for having their frame cab mount brackets rust away where they are sandwiched between the rubber isolation pads! This will cause a popping or creaking when the frame twists (which is often) Place a wood block under the rocker panel and try to lift the cab off of the frame using a floor jack! Don't be alarmed if it lifts off! Order new rear mounts and bolts from Ford. Jack up the cab again, sawzall the old mounts off, install the new ones with oversized washers from your local hardware store! When you get a chance swing by your favorite welders shop and have them put a couple of spot welds on the washers! Good Luck!
