can anyone tell me what is in the s/d std.trailer tow pack, and if you can only add the 12.5k facory hitch , been reading kelly blue book and that states you have to add the camper pack to buy the 12.5 hitch. i don't need the camper pack and only tow a 5k boat . if the std pack includes a class 4 hitch i.m fine if it dose not i need a hitch. in other words i tow but not heavy, std height makes it into my garage add the camp pack to high by 2 inches.

 

It looks like the "Trailer Tow Package" is standard on SD. On FordDirect Build & Price, I was able to select the 12.5k factory hitch as a stand-alone option on a bare-bones 250 RC XL 4x2, with no other options selected. If it required any other options, the B&P application should have said so. On the other hand, it's not always 100% accurate...

 

I ordered just the 12.5K trailer hitch receiver on my 05 SD.

 

i have found out some dealers try to screw you around a little when sitting down to order. make sure they are using order number 0999 priority 99 meaning special order not for stock. if they don't you may wind up buying more then you want, i wanted the larait pck but not the larait lux. if they use stock order code you have to take the lux pack to get a larait, the hitch a stock order they try to get you to add the camper pack to the hitch. using the 99 codes the computer codes it as you have looked it up on the ford site . also when you price using the ford site it dose not add these 13 gal us gas $25.09 and fdaf assessment $385.00 to the invoice price that is added to when you order, also again if you live in new jersey you have to add a nj cost surcharge to the invoice price in my case it was $157.00. . it payes to shop around using ford direct. i got mine coming from a local dealer just over the boarder in ny state for jeffs price. no nj cost surcharge, no dealer office fees . no charges for messinger running to nj to reg. it for me. saving me another $500.00 bucks.

99 order means it is not submitted to Zone, must be allocated to dealer to order. If the dealer doesn't have the allocation to order the unit (the ability to do so) Your order will sit until that dealer has been told he can order one or more of that particular unit. I could take orders for 100 Ford GT's...submit every one of them...and NONE of them would get built, as I don't have allocation for more than the two I have coming (and yes they are sold)

what i ment was this was how the dealer finally got the computer to stop saying you have to buy the larait lux. pack to get a larait std,also it wanted me to buy the camper pack for the hitch, this sales man keep trying to tell me i had to buy the lux pack and camper pack that i had no choice, thought it might be helpful if some one got the same -- from a dealer, you just helped us more THANKS
